Hunting

We do most of our hunting in conjunction with fishing.

Seasonal bird hunting is available. The first two weekends of September are white wing dove season in South Texas. For these weekends, we require a minimum of 4 hunters. These weekends book up well in advance, so please call early. If we are full or you have a smaller party, we will be happy to refer you to excellent local outfitters. Please keep in mind that–in the state of Texas–every hunter (including out of state hunters) born on or after September 2, 1971 must successfully complete a Hunter Education Training course. The TPWD web site has full details at http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/learning/hunter_education/.

After white wing season, we hunt dove and teal. The quality dove hunting usually ends in mid-October. The teal hunting is generally outstanding during the early teal season. November through January offers excellent duck hunting. Literally, millions of waterfowl winter in the Lower Laguna Madre, including the largest flights of redheads in the world. We generally shoot a mixed bag of ducks that includes redheads, widgeon, teal, pintails, bluebills, ruddy ducks and mottled ducks.

Our lodge is designed to comfortably accommodate 6 fishermen/hunters. We have three bedrooms and two lofts, which accommodates nearly any sleeping configuration. A large open living area with a big screen tv is perfect for sports, news or relaxing. The large screened porch is generally where we eat. Our outdoor thatched roof palapa, complete with couch, rocking hairs and hammock is the perfect relaxation spot after a long day on the water. We have a full time cook. Fish and game dominate our menu but we can accommodate special requests or dietary needs. Lodge fees include all meals but do not include tips.
